Marcus graduated with honors from St. Joseph's College in North Windham, Maine, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He later received Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU®), and Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC®) designations from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. These designations make Marcus a member of an elite group of insurance professionals who are licensed insurance consultants in Maine. As a CLU® and ChFC®, Marcus has retained membership in the Million Dollar Round Table for the past 27 years. This distinction recognizes performance within the industry for professionals in the top five percent for annual achievement. Marcus is a past member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting. He is also a past president of the Maine Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Health Insurance Agents of America, and of the New England Life Leaders Association. He is also a charter member of the Association of Health Insurance Agents. Currently Marcus holds his Series 7 securities license, along with Series 63 and 26. As a member of the Maine Legislature's "Select Commission of Access to Health Care," Marcus represented the Health Insurance Industry from 1988 to 1990. Marcus was co-founder of the band "Sound Friendships" which helped Maine chairites raise over $300,000 in the last 11 years!
